I’m Suzan Leach, Adult Education Chairman. Janet Kester, Ruthann Moomy, and Pastor Steve Poos-Benson make up the rest of the committee. The COVID 19 virus has made us budding scholars of Zoom. Zooming is our method of presenting (as Rocky Mt. PBS says) “quality programming.” We don’t solicit funds, present problems finding parking spaces, nor require a dress code. On Sunday mornings we have been able to offer speakers from CUC and professionals not connected to our church. They have expanded our horizons on a large number of topics. Improving personal relationships, dealing with emotions relating to isolation, voting issues, social injustice, care giving, religion during the Civil War, understanding the book “We Make the Road By Walking”, virtues, vaccines, discrimination by redlining, services provided by CASA, Black History Month, and Black music (religious and secular) are some of the examples. A 4 session small support group for those dealing with grief, was offered on Tuesday evenings. We plan to continue to offer a wide variety of programs through the middle of May. Please check the e-blast for upcoming topics and join us.
