I’m very excited to announce we’re going to start worshiping together face to face!

When? On Sunday April 11th at 10:30 in the morning we’re going to start meeting in a sanctuary for the first time since last March! We’ve met in Clement Park, on or own church lawn, and the Audubon Amphitheatre. But now we’re moving into a sanctuary!

Where? We’re going to be at Denver South Seventh Day Adventist church on 2675 S. Downing Street right next door to Porter Hospital. It’s a fifteen-minute drive from CUC so it’s just a hop skip and a jump down the road.

For how long? We’ll be meeting here on Sunday mornings until our building is completely renovated. At least through the end of June.

What do I need to do? The service is open to everyone, but you will need to preregister on https://rsvp.church/r/5g3FkwTk. The seating is open to the first 72 people. Eventually we can add a second service. We need to follow the church’s guidelines. Masks for everyone, no exceptions. Temperature checks at the door. Social distancing in the sanctuary.

What if I can’t, or don’t feel comfortable attending? We know not everyone is ready to return to face-to-face worship. You can join us on Facebook to watch a live stream of the service.

It’s been a long journey. We’ve connected many different ways this past year. Even though we’ve had great Sunday morning video and Zoom worship services, following the state guidelines for places of worship, we’re able to gather with limited crowds.

We had initially planned to worship at a vacated church on Sheridan Blvd. But that proved to no longer be possible. As an alternative the staff began exploring other options and found Denver South. They’ve thrown open their doors to us and have been very accommodating.

The Council discussed this at quite some length on Sunday the 28th and voted to take this next step in our life together. Even though many in the congregation haven’t been vaccinated, or even if they have, they still don’t feel comfortable in attending, we’re wanting this to be something the whole church celebrates.

Later this summer when our building is finished, we will all be able to gather in our renovated sanctuary. Until then, this will be our home away from home.

The staff and I are ready and excited to meet you either in person or online.

The great ministry of Columbine Untied Church continues on.
