This “bible study” class has been a tradition at CUC for over 20 years! The class meets from 9:30 – 11:30 am from September through May. Topics vary each year, based on class suggestions/interests. About half of the topics concern the Bible. At CUC we take the Bible seriously, although not always literally. We believe that God speaks through the scriptures. God transforms people when they engage the scriptures. Other topics have included racism, immigration, and books by various authors.
Beginning September 17th, 2019 9:30 – 11:30 in the Fireside Room: We will study “Cultivating Nonviolence, Harvesting Peace”, during an 8-week program that includes prayer, readings, reflection, dialogue, some videos and guest speakers. You will learn of nonviolence as an authentic means of social change and as the desired spiritual stance of those who seek to follow Jesus. We ourselves can grow in nonviolence on a personal level and learn how the practice of nonviolence can create a more just and peaceful community, country and world.
