Social Groups

While we think ALL of the groups at CUC have an element of fun, some are just directly geared toward having a great time! Interested in joining one or more of these groups? Find who to email in the descriptions below!

Some groups meet in-person and some on Zoom. Email cuc@columbineunitedchurch.org to sign up for a group, for location details, or for advice on which group is right for you.

Men's Poker Group

The group plays every Thursday evening online at 7:00 PM. It is free and we only play for bragging rights. Usually around 10-14 players. Beginner to pro players are all invited and the group is always ready to welcome new players.

If interested, please contact Tom Rehling (tomrehling@me.com) for more information.

Moms United Group

Every other Thursday from 7pm-8:30pm  meeting in-person again!

We welcome new people at any time! We build circles of moms who love each other like family. Women around the world are starting groups where moms can meet to share their hopes, fears and insights. Moms meet in a format that works with their schedules and doesn’t neglect their faith nor their womanhood, their motherhood nor their purpose, their heart nor their mind.

Learning Groups

Faith Forum Group

The group meets every Tuesday from 9:30am– 11:30am on Zoom, September through May.

Topics vary each year, based on class suggestions/interests. About half of the topics concern the Bible. At CUC we take the Bible seriously, although not always literally. We believe that God speaks through the scriptures. God transforms people when they engage the scriptures. Other topics have included racism, immigration, and books by various authors. We’re currently meeting on Zoom. Newcomers welcome!

Adult Education

9:20am on Sundays in the Fireside Room

While our faith journey varies from one person to another, several unifying themes form the basis: (1) The Bible is the shared document of Christianity. Although different interpretations are possible, a better understanding of the Bible informs our thinking about both our own faith and the other manifestations of Christianity in our society. (2) Spiritual practices enrich our understanding of ourselves and the divine. These spiritual practices include prayer and meditation, and less well-known practices such as walking a labyrinth. (3) Living the Christian Life should be our goal. What does that mean for each person? Is Faith more than a Creed? Will they know we are Christians by our Love?
