Building Renovation Updates
“If you build it they will come” what movie is that from?
As we are in the final stretch of the building renovation, we have had at least two calls a week with building use inquiries. From arts groups to Girl Scouts, it’s a poignant reminder that this renovation and our CUC space is a gift we get to share with the community. Today, I have no final date when we will be back in worship. We plan to move furniture back into the offices early September. In the first weeks of September inspections will need to be finalized and our outside lighting and sound subcontractors will come in to finish the sanctuary. Pray for inspections- they’re a major hurdle.
Kitchens: Millwork and counters installed, Appliances just need to be plugged in.
Biel Hall: finished. The Garage door is installed and is a stunning piece.
Bathrooms: Everything installed except stall dividers.
Floors: All Done – except Sanctuary.
Sanctuary: Needs beams stained, final paint. Rock wall is a nice accent.
HVac- Installed- not all inspected thus ceilings are not closed up.
Elevator is up and running!
Doors have been hung, stair railing installed and other interior hand-rails.
Coffee bar area millwork is installed (No coffee machines yet).
Painting- Exterior done and some finishing on the interior.
We are working on a landscape design, and a new deck. We have a deck contractor who has already given us 2 deck design options.
The external site plan has been approved which relates to trash enclosures, gravel removal and corrections to permeable surface requirements. This external work will continue into the fall. We also continue to work with the landscape design team to make plans for phase 2.
